This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data the Balance Your Life learning platform collects, why, who can see it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This platform (“Balance Your Life”) is the learning platform of the Erasmus+ co-funded project Balance Your Life, Project No. 2025-1-AT01-KA220-ADU-000357396, delivered by the project consortium: Base Verein, Maksima, Euroreach, KIG and Body to Soul. The platform is operated by Euroreach on behalf of the consortium. You can reach the project team through the main project website at balanceyourlife-project.eu.
What data we collect
Account data
When you create an account we collect your username, first and last name, e-mail address and password (stored encrypted). This is needed to provide you with access to the course.
Learning records
While you use the course, the platform records your progress: which lessons you have opened and completed, your enrolment status, and your answers to the course activities (self-assessments, knowledge checks, reflection questions and interactive exercises). When you change an earlier answer, the previous version is kept so that your trainer can follow your learning over time.
Usage data
To understand how the course is used and to support learners, the platform also records, for logged-in users: pages visited, time spent on a page, scrolling, clicks on links and buttons, use of embedded materials, and log-in and log-out events. The platform also stores your working state (for example a partly filled reflection or the position where you stopped a video) so you can continue where you left off on another device.
Cookies
The platform sets cookies that are necessary for it to work (session and log-in cookies) and records your cookie consent choice. No advertising or third-party analytics cookies are used, and no data is shared with advertising networks. Your consent choice is kept for 365 days.
Why we process this data
We process account data to provide the service you request (contract). We process learning records and usage data on the basis of our legitimate interest in delivering, supporting and evaluating a publicly funded educational project: trainers may review your responses to support your learning, and anonymised, aggregated statistics may be used for the evaluation and reporting of the Erasmus+ project. Your answers are never used for any commercial purpose.
Who can see your data
Your answers and progress are visible to the platform administrators and the project trainers. They are not shared with anyone outside the project consortium, are not transferred outside the European Economic Area, and are not sold or passed to advertisers. Reports produced for the funding agency contain only aggregated, anonymised information.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for the duration of the Balance Your Life project and any retention period required by the funding rules. You may ask for your account and data to be deleted at any time (see below).
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact the project team through balanceyourlife-project.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
